Giving students the support they need to make good use of our resources
In addition to making these materials available to our online students, we provide instruction so that students know how to navigate the software. This allows them to spend more time actually using the books and databases they need for their coursework. That is typical of learning online at Globe University. We give you the support you need to be successful.
Library materials for online students
Our online library includes resources such as the following:
- Online databases. Globe provides students with access to thousands of articles, reports and professional sources. Our extensive database selection comes from some of the largest academic and technical publishers, including Gale, Ebsco and ProQuest. We also have access to specialty databases, such as Hoovers, CCF and VetMed Resource.
- E-books. We offer thousands of complete books online on a variety of topics.
- Books 24/7. This resource includes thousands of specialty books and reports in a wide range of professional business and information technology topics.
- General reference online. Students are just a click away from answers to questions. Our resources include dictionaries, encyclopedias, almanacs and other reference works.
Support available to library users
We provide services such as those listed here to help students be successful online library users:
- Lunch and learns. We offer lunchtime webinars and teleconferences on a wide variety of subjects of interest to online learners, including plagiarism, style sheets, special research topics, bibliographic citation and outlining your project.
- Online librarian. Our online librarian is available to answer questions via chat, IM, e-mail and telephone.
- Tutorials. We offer online tutorials on all of our databases and electronic resources. Students can take these at any time.
- On-campus instruction. Online students are welcome to visit our campus libraries and talk with one of our knowledgeable librarians.
