Why earn your tax degree online?

Our online Associate in Applied Science in Accounting and Tax Specialist (AAS) degree allows a student to study at his or her own pace. People who work full-time or care for small children often find it difficult to attend a traditional college. Studying online at Globe University allows students to learn after work, on the weekends or while on the road for their jobs. And they save the cost of gas, parking, childcare and other expenses.

Like a traditional college education, but more flexible

There is seldom any downside to learning online. Students in our two-year accounting degree programs are able to consult with teachers, interact with classmates and engage in discussion — all online. Online students at Globe University have access to a robust support system, financial aid and career services — as do students at our 12 locations in Minnesota and the upper Midwest. The big difference is your ability to take classes when you have time rather than according to a set schedule.

Building on your degree

First, you are prepared to take exams such as the Accredited Business Accountant/Advisor (ABA) exam, Registered Accounting Practitioner (RAP) exam and Enrolled Agent (EA) exam. These credentials enhance your degree and indicate your commitment to the accounting field. Second, you may return to college to earn a bachelor’s degree in Accounting. Many AAS courses can count toward your BS degree.
