Just like the students at our campuses, students at Globe University-Online may be able to receive college credit for prior learning, training and work experience. Students in the MBA and medical assisting programs may be able to receive credit for up to 50% of their degree requirements. Students in other programs may receive credit for up to 75% of required classes.

Credit for courses taken at other colleges
We award online students transfer credit for college courses completed elsewhere. Our Education Department evaluates all requests for transfer credit, looking at the relevance of the proposed credits and the strength of the previous college. Students must have earned a grade of C- or better or P in any course for which they hope to receive transfer credit.
Advanced standing tests
Some departments offer tests that allow a student to demonstrate proficiency in a subject. The Education Department administers these tests, which must be taken before the start of the quarter in which the relevant course would be taken.
Prior learning
Our Education Department will review requests for credit for completing a variety of prior learning experiences. The student must include documentation such as certificates, letters and awards with his or her request. Students have received credit for prior learning such as the following:
- Professional training
- Licenses
- Coursework earned at non-transferable institutions
- CLEP tests
- DANTES tests
- AP tests
- SkillSoft
It is important to consult with the Education Department to learn about any limitations or restrictions on prior learning credits earned outside a traditional classroom.
Professional work experience
A student may be able to receive credit for work experience. It may be possible to convert management or professional experience to college credits. Contact the Education Department for forms and information about requirements.
Save money, save time
Unlike some colleges, Globe University-Online does not charge tuition for credits awarded for prior learning, college or work experience. In addition to reducing the number of classes they have to take, students are also able to save the cost of tuition when they receive credit for specific courses.
